New Hampshire has been the principal U.S. manufacturing and R&D center for the company for more than 60 years. Today, Velcro Companies employs approximately 700 people in Manchester and Somersworth and excited to announce a new partnership with the Manchester School District: Velcro University.
Students attending Manchester High School West will have the chance to intern with Velcro Companies and learn a plethora of both “soft skills and technical skills.” The curriculum provides progressive and customized learning programs based on practical business and technical skills. Velcro University intends to develop student’s professional curiosity and help prepare them to enter the workforce. Courses include:

Our hope is Velcro University will be a resource for the region’s workforce of the future… To continue to be a hub of innovation, we need to attract and develop professional and skilled trade staff to lead the company well into the future”, says Dirk Foreman, President of North America.
